Back To Work part one

After a 3 month break I am back to my photography. I was taking care of a terminal ill Family member. I traveled to one of my favorite areas in Utah for the last 2 weekends the new Bears Ears NM in the south east part of the state. The first trip was met with some cloudy skies and snow and rain but on Saturday night we did get some clear skies for some Milky way photography at Natural Bridges NM. But the first day I went into see the mule canyon ruins known as House On Fire.

This pano is one of my favorite from the trip.

This is a popular spot for many photographers to visit in this area. The short 1.1 mile hike into the ruins is easy and most people have no problem making the hike in. I also attempted to hike into fallen roof ruin but bad weather caused me to return as I was not dressed for snow.

The clear night on Saturday allowed us to get some Milky Way shot after the moon set around 1 am. We sat in the cold 30 degrees night for 6 hours to get these shots. Natural Bridges is one of the darkest night skies in the National Park system and well worth visiting for some star gazing in the summer. Next time I will talk about the second week back at work.
