Alaska Part one

In August I traveled to Alaska for a trip with my Wife to photograph Sea Otters and Puffins. Alaska is a place of great beauty so it is easy to find subjects to photograph. We traveled from Anchorage to Seward and along the way we spotted several beautiful waterfalls along the road.

At our lunch stop I hiked out into the woods looking for some Macro shot and was happy to find some interesting mushrooms to photograph.

We arrived in Seward to grey overcast sky and hoped that the next days trip on a charted boat would bring us better weather. We woke up the next morning to blue skies and wind. The boat ride was a bit rough but we did get lucky and spotted a Humpback Whale.

And a few Stellar Sea Lions

The ride back to Seward was rough as the wind increased throughout the day. We hoped that it would die down for the next days Boat ride out to the lodge we had booked in the Kenai Fjords NP. After a Long day on the water we where hungry and a great dinner of seafood was just what we needed. With dinner finished it was time to get some sleep as we had an early boat to catch for our ride out to the lodge.

Until next week!!
